Building a Culture within a club


Across the world, millions of volunteers give up their time and expertise to support their local rugby clubs. However, attracting new volunteers is difficult and therefore the resource the clubs have in terms of the workforce, is often limited. The clubs need to optimise the resource they have, so it is essential that there is a culture or feeling of togetherness within the club where everyone is committed to working together in achieving the common goals.

If there isn’t this understanding or culture and the individual volunteers work to their own agendas, instead of the club’s agenda, it will result is upset, frustration and a loss of opportunity. The leadership group in the club is responsible for developing a culture in which everyone does work together and optimises the available resources.
