Brazil began their quest to make it to a first Rugby World Cup in style with their largest win and record points total against Paraguay in the opening match of the triangular qualification tournament for Sudamericano 2025.
Os Tupis won the match in São Paulo 77-17, eclipsing the 66-10 win they achieved against Paraguay in 2019, and they now stand a very good chance of competing in Sudamericano 2025 as the top two go through.
However, they will have to wait until the final game against Chile on 5 October before their place in the next stage of the Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 qualification process is confirmed.
Centre Carlo Mignot scored a hat-trick in their seventh straight win against Paraguay, while number eight André Arruda and replacement hooker Henrique Ferreira each bagged a brace as Os Tupis ran in 11 tries in total.
Brazil remain in 29th place in the World Rugby Men's Rankings and Paraguay stay in 41st.
