Kenya second-row Brian Juma appeared before an independent judicial committee on Wednesday having received a red card in Kenya’s Rugby World Cup 2023 Final Qualification Tournament match against Portugal on 12 November, 2022. The red card was awarded following two yellow cards.
The independent Disciplinary Committee was chaired by Tommy Dalton (Ireland), joined by former international players David Humphreys (Ireland) and Bogdan Zebega (Romania).
The Committee considered the fact that one yellow card was awarded for a technical offence (not back 10 metres), and one was for foul play (dangerous tackle) and decided that the ordering off was sufficient and that no further sanction was necessary.
