Captain Peace Lekuru led the way with a couple of tries as Uganda secured a 34-3 win against a well-beaten Zimbabwe in Kampala on Sunday.
It was another accomplished performance from the Lady Cranes as they followed up Wednesday’s 41-0 victory against the same opposition.
The home side had a comfortable cushion at the break despite losing two players to the sin-bin, with Lekuru’s quickfire brace accompanied by additional points from the boot of Charlotte Mudoola.
Emilly Lekuru scored Uganda’s third try at the start of the second half from a lineout catch-and-drive move before prop Faith Namugga got in on the act to cap a fine personal display.
Once again, Mudoola converted both the tries and added a penalty as the Lady Cranes built up a 34-0 lead.
Zimbabwe, who failed to score in the first encounter, managed to finally get some points on the board thanks to a penalty from Delight Dananai.
The 2.89 rating points gained over the course of the week has resulted in a climb of eight places in the World Rugby Women’s Rankings for Uganda to a new high of 31st.
Zimbabwe have gone in the other direction, down to 46th, which is their lowest position.
