Campus 2023, the Apprenticeship Training Centre created by France 2023, had its first large-scale deployment on Monday attended by French Prime Minister Jean Castex and Ministers Jean-Michel Blanquer (Minister of National Education), Elisabeth Borne (Labour Minister) and Roxana Maracineanu (Minister of Sport). In total, 1,500 apprentices - out of the 3,000 who will be part of the programme - had their first day on the 29 March, with the aim of "putting their ambitions in the service of sport".

BACK TO SCHOOL FOR 1,500 APPRENTICES

Campus 2023 is an unprecedented project in the community of sport which will recruit equally women and men aged from 18 to 30, all over the country, with 80 training sites and host structures spread across France and overseas. This flagship programme of France's 2023 CSR strategy is willing to train the new generation of sport professionals and leave a lasting legacy to the French sports sector.

These 1,500 young people will be apprentices in clubs, leagues, and committees. Their mission will be to support these sports structures in the professionalisation of their actions, notably to anticipate the influx of participants thanks to the "Rugby World Cup 2023" effect. Campus 2023 also puts inclusion at the forefront of its programme by welcoming 200 young apprentices with disabilities.

NEW TRAINING OFFERED

Building on growing success, Campus 2023 will eventually recruit 3,000 young people - compared to the 2,023 initially planned. Beyond the sport background (Bac + 1, Bac + 3, Bac + 5) which began in March, new apprentices will be introduced to two essential areas for the organisation of Rugby World Cup France 2023: tourism and security.

Campus 2023 was also at the heart of the Partnership Agreement signed on Monday 29 March between the France 2023 Organising Committee and the Ministry of National Education. Both parties have undertaken to jointly develop a specific training course and to extend the experimentation with the "AGSS Complementary Mention" (Animation-Project Management in the Sports Sector) diploma to direct it towards the future "Bac Pro Sport".
