Rugby fans will be able to watch a full day of high-octane international Sevens from as little as R80 at South African rugby’s biggest party - the Nelson Mandela Bay South Africa Sevens.

Tickets went on sale today for the South African leg of the hugely popular HSBC Sevens World Series, which has moved to an exciting new venue at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The even, which will be the third leg of the 2011/12 Series after Australia and Dubai, takes place on December 9-10 and tickets are expected to sell fast.

“Rugby fans will be able to watch top-class, international Sevens rugby for as little as R80. This includes a full day’s action plus an exciting line-up of entertainment. Supporters will definitely get full value for their money,” said Andy Marinos, General Manager Commercial and Marketing at South Africa Rugby Union.

“The Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium offers superb viewing from just about every angle in the stadium and I am confident that with this modern, world-class facility we will soon establish this tournament as one of the premier events of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

“I would like to invite all rugby fans to come and join rugby’s biggest party on 9-10 December in Port Elizabeth. Book your ticket early to avoid disappointment,” said Marinos.

SARU launched ticket sales for this much-anticipated event at the iconic stadium in Port Elizabeth and was attended by current Springbok Sevens captain and coach, Kyle Brown and Paul Treu.

Sevens thrills in South Africa

Treu's South Africa finished the 2010/11 Series in style, winning the final two tournaments in London and Edinburgh to finish second overall behind New Zealand, and will be looking to pick up where they left on the Gold Coast at the end of November.

“Undoubtedly this marks a new phase in the development of the South African leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series," said Krishna Patel, Chairman of HSBC Africa,
