Event Management
Event management is an essential skill to have within rugby clubs because of the potential range of events they could run throughout the year. These will vary from running a match day event to running a fund-raising event, such as a dinner or a family fun day.
All events need to be managed to ensure success and there are four phases to event management that are outlined below and developed in detail in the PFDs below:
1. Define the event
- What is the objective?
- What is the vision the stakeholders have?
- Who is the audience?
- What is the customer experience you want to provide?
- What are the budget and the pricing structure of event?
2. Marketing and selling the event
- Developing the marketing message
- How to contact these individuals
- Which marketing channels would you use
3. Operational Plan
- The delivery of the event
4. Review and Case Study
- What went well and what didn’t?
- Match day example
