Independent disciplinary update: Jake Parkinson (Scotland)

Scotland second row Jake Parkinson appeared before an independent judicial committee on Saturday, 22 July, having been cited for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.12 (contact with the eye area) in Scotland’s Pool A match against USA during the second round of the World Rugby U20 Trophy 2023 on 20 July.

The independent Disciplinary Committee was chaired by Jennifer Donovan (Ireland), joined by former international players Becky Essex (England) and Stefan Terblanche (South Africa).

The Committee, having carefully considered the Player’s submissions and reviewed all available evidence, found that the red card threshold had not been met and accordingly the citing was not upheld.

The full written decision will appear here once published.
