The Glasgow Sevens at Scotstoun Stadium has sold out and Calum MacRae has revealed the host's squad for round eight of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Colin Gregor, who surpassed Waisale Serevi in fourth in the all-time point scorer chart, will become Scotland Sevens' joint most capped player when he takes the field this weekend, matching Andrew Turnbull's tally of 57 caps, while Scott Riddell is named captain once again.

James Eddie and Gavin Lowe come into the side, with Scotland chasing their best ever finishing position on the World Series.

"As a player, it's a special moment running out to a full house, especially when it's  your home support. I'm sure the crowd will help the players find another gear," said former player and now coach MacRae.

"The prospect of completing the competition in the highest position ever for a Scotland Sevens team in the World Series is a strong motivator for all the players to finish the job we set out to do at the start of the season."

The penultimate round of the Series has sold out, with Scotstoun Stadium to be at capacity on 9-10 May as teams compete for valuable points in the standings, and in Olympic qualification.

Canada, runners-up in Glasgow 12 months ago, also named their squad following their best placed finish this season in Tokyo, where Liam Midddleton's side reached the Cup semi finals before losing to eventual winners England.

Nathan Hirayama is set to make his first appearance of the season for Canada following a long-term shoulder injury, and brings with a him a wealth of experience and 42 tries.

SQUAD: Scott Riddell, James Eddie, Gavin Lowe, James Johnstone, Colin Gregor, Mark Robertson, Damien Hoyland, Nyle Godsmark, Joseva Nayacavou, Russell Weir, James Fleming and Chris Dean.
