Some interesting stats as the IRB's Game Analysis report has been published from the 2011/12 HSBC Sevens World Series.

New Zealand won the 2011/12 HSBC Sevens World Series, their 10th title in 13 years, edging Fiji by six points in the overall standings.

Both sides recorded three Cup victories across the Series and were closely matches across the season, but New Zealand finished runners-up on three occasions compared to Fiji's one which eventually proved the difference.

On average, Gordon Tietjens' side scored the most tries per match (4.4) and also conceded the fewest (1.4), whereas it was Fiji who had the best try scoring rate - scoring a try every 51 seconds of play.

The report comprises a quantitative analysis of all elements of play similar to the information above, together with the approach and performance of all participating teams in various aspects of the game.
