Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has again released squad members not selected for the Test against France in Sydney, meaning Australia A coach Phil Mooney will have another strong team at his disposal against the Fijians.

Mooney's side to play Fiji at Ballymore on Sunday includes 12 capped Wallabies.

"We were very good in attack last week, but I'm expecting Fiji to be a lot tighter defensively and make us really earn our points this week," said Mooney.

"There's no doubt Fiji will be up for this match and we're hoping to see a good Brisbane crowd come down to Ballymore on Sunday and enjoy a good international contest."

Experienced scrum half Mosese Rauluni returns to boost the Flying Fijians as they seek their first win against Australia A when the two sides meet.

The two sides have met three times in the past, Australia A winning two of the encounters and the third ending in a 14-all draw in Suva last year.

Nine players in the current Fiji squad featured in that clash: Rauluni, Kele Leawere, Aca Ratuva, Waisea Luveniyali, Semisi Naevo, Ifereimi Rawaqa, Sunia Koto, Vereniki Sauturaga and Kameli Ratuvou.

NZ Maori ready for Japan test

New Zealand Maori coach Donny Stevenson has named his side to play Japan in the next round of the IRB Pacific Nations Cup at McLean Park in Napier on Saturday.

Jason Eaton has a slight calf strain and has been bracketed with Isaac Ross. Eaton will be monitored over the next two days and a decision about his availability will be made on match day.

"We had a challenging win against Manu Samoa last week and we know we are in for another tough game because the Japanese team is well coached and they are a fit side that will battle for 80 minutes," said Stevenson.

Japan coach John Kirwan has made 10 changes to the Cherry Blossom side that lost 24-12 against Fiji last time out.

Kirwan makes five changes in the forwards and five in the backs ahead of the match against his countrymen.

Samoa and Tonga look for maiden win

Samoa and Tonga line up at Tonga's Teufaiva Stadium both gunning for a first win in this year's competition.

Many of the results have been tight but ultimately neither side will want to enter the final match day winless.

So far Samoa have lost to Fiji (34-17), Australia A (20-15) and New Zealand Maori (17-6) while the Tongans have lost against the Maori (20-9), Japan (35-13) and a Wallaby-strengthed Australia A side 90-7 last time out.
