WXV Disciplinary update – Fion Got (Hong Kong China)

Hong Kong China hooker Fion Got has had the red card she received against the Netherlands in their WXV 3 match on 12 October dismissed by a disciplinary committee.

Hong Kong China hooker, Fion Got, has had her red card dismissed. The red card was awarded for a crocodile roll in Hong Kong China’s WXV 3 match against the Netherlands on 12 October, 2024 in the United Arab Emirates.

WXV 2024 operated the simplified red card sanction trial, an initiative born from the Shape of the Game forum earlier this year aimed at simplifying rugby’s off-field disciplinary processes.

A Red Card Sanction Committee (RCSC) decided to refer the matter to a Disciplinary Committee.

The Disciplinary Committee met on 17 October, 2024, and was chaired by Jean Noel Couraud (France), joined by former international referees Donal Courtney (Ireland) and Valeriu Toma (Romania).

Having considered all the available evidence, all available camera angles, and the player’s evidence of the event, the Disciplinary Committee found the offending did not warrant a red card.
