The talisman of Argentine rugby, Agustín Pichot played in four Rugby World Cups and captained Los Pumas to the bronze medal, their best finish to date, at France 2007.

Pichot played age grade rugby for Argentina and sevens before making his senior 15s debut in a 53-7 defeat to Australia in April 1995, aged 20. He went on to win 71 caps for his country and scored 12 tries.

The Buenos Aires-born scrum-half enjoyed spells at Richmond and Bristol in English club rugby before moving to Paris where he won the French Top 14 title with Stade Français before seeing out his playing career with city rivals Racing 92.

A passionate supporter of Argentinean rugby, Pichot was instrumental in Los Pumas competing in The Rugby Championship alongside the southern hemisphere’s top three nations, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. In May 2016, he was elected Vice-Chairman of World Rugby.
